Marc Evans' visually stunning and inspirational Welsh film, Patagonia, is about the journey of two women, one looking for her past and the other for her future.

It stars Matthew Rhys (Edge of Love and Brothers & Sisters) and Grammy Award winning singer Duffy, in her acting debut. TORRI GAIR During the warm summer of 1833 in a rural village in Donegal, the local schoolmaster’s prodigal son returns to his home village. He is accompanied by officers from the Royal Engineers. The British soldiers are tasked with undertaking a topographic review of the local landscape in order to complete an official mapping exercise. Whilst proceeding to draw the new maps, they begin to rename the original Gaelic place names in order to ‘standardise’ them in the King’s English. These events - in turn -bring about some unexpected and brutal outcomes. Here is an opportunity to enjoy Irish playwright Brian Friel’s poignant play. Tickets: £7 and £5
